Maruti Suzuki Jimny Hits the Indian Market

The much anticipated Jimny SUV has been introduced by Maruti Suzuki in India, with costs for the base Zeta trim starting at Rs. 12.74 lakh and rising to Rs. 15.05 lakh for the top-spec Alpha trim (both prices ex-showroom, India). Since the Jimny\'s premiere at Auto Expo 2023, reservations have started taking place, and the business has already received over 30,000 reservations. According to our dealer sources, delivery will begin in stages starting in mid-June.

Jimny has a 1.5-litre, 105-horsepower petrol engine.

The Jimny was created especially for our market and will be built in Maruti\'s Gurugram facility before being shipped to other countries. India is the first market to receive the five-door version.

Maruti Suzuki Jimny platform and drivetrain

A single 1.5-liter, four-cylinder, normally aspirated engine with 105 horsepower and 134 Nm of torque powers the Jimny. It can be paired with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 4-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The Jimny uses the older-spec K15B engine, in contrast to the rest of Maruti\'s Indian lineup, which has switched to the K15C engine. The manual version of the Maruti claims a mileage of 16.94 kpl, while the automatic version achieves 16.39 kpl.
