2024 Maserati GranTurismo launched in India

2024 Maserati GranTurismo

The second-generation GranTurismo has been introduced by Maserati in India. The Modena variation starts at Rs 2.72 crore, while the top-tier Trofeo model costs Rs 2.90 crore (both ex-showroom, India). Though tuned differently, the 3.0-litre V6 twin-turbo petrol engine powers both versions of the 2+2 two-door coupe. They also differ in several morphological and feature areas. Sometime in 2025, the all-electric GranTurismo Folgore will be released.

Maserati GranTurismo: Standout Features

The 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine, available in two different combinations, powers the GranTurismo. First up is the Modena, which has a peak speed of 302 mph, 490 horsepower, and 600 Nm of torque. It can go from 0 to 100 mph in 3.9 seconds. Second, 550 PS and 650 Nm are produced by the GranTurismo Trofeo. With this, it has a peak speed of 320 mph and can reach 100 kmph from zero in 3.5 seconds.

The GT's completely variable all-wheel drive system boosts performance. In slippery situations, the system may adapt to a 50/50 power distribution; in 'Corsa' mode, however, the system locks out the front axle completely, enabling rear-wheel drive for the GT. Up to 20% of the power is sent to the front wheels in the Normal and Sport settings. In addition, the Trofeo version\'s electronically controlled rear differential contributes to its increased agility and dynamic qualities.

With its three-motor layout, the forthcoming GranTurismo Folgore will have an all-wheel drive system. When combined with a 92.5kWh battery pack, these motors provide a torque of 1,350 Nm and 761 PS. The EV can therefore accelerate from a standstill to 100 mph in 2.7 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 325 kmph. Notably, it can go 450 kilometres.

Maserati GranTurismo: Interior Design & Layout

Towards the end of the original model's lifespan in 2022, the second generation Granturismo was unveiled. Maserati has entirely redesigned the new model, which shares certain design cues and its foundation with the Grecale while having a comparable appearance to its predecessor. Compared to the previous model, the GT's structure is made of a mixed metal that is stiffer and lighter. In addition, at 1795 kg, it weighs 60 kg less than the original GranTurismo. An automatic ZF gearbox with eight speeds is matched to both versions.

The cabin's interior has contemporary hardware that replaces outdated physical dials and switches with capacitive touch controls. In addition, the dashboard now has a digital screen in place of the analogue timepiece. A 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and an extra 8.8-inch touchscreen are also there for different functions.

With a stated 0-100 km/h pace of 3.9 seconds, the Modena's V6 engine produces 600 Nm and 490 horsepower. Although it has a slightly more sombre appearance than the more powerful Trofeo version, both versions are equipped with standard 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels. A 12.2-inch digital clock display behind the steering wheel, a 12.3-inch central infotainment screen, and an additional 8.8-inch touchscreen for the temperature settings are among the other standard features. Along with an optional head-up display and Sonus Fabre audio system, it also comes with a digital clock.

Maserati Granturismo Trofeo

A higher level of tune is received by the GranTurismo Trofeo, with 550 horsepower and 650 Nm and a stated 0-100 kph pace of 3.5 seconds. AWD is standard on the Trofeo, just like it is on its sister. The Trofeo may be distinguished from the Modena by its more aggressive bumpers, new design 20-inch front and 21-inch rear alloys, numerous carbon-fibre features on the exterior, different upholstery, and sportier accents on the inside.
