7 Things Tata Punch Facelift Needs To Get Ahead Of The Hyundai Exter

Tata Punch Back Veiw

The Tata Punch was the first micro SUV in the Indian market until the Hyundai Exter was launched in the last year. The Exter came with new designs and a new look and feel making it a car worth considering in the market. At the moment, Tata has plans to come up with a facelifted version of the Punch by the year 2024. In an attempt to overshadow the Exter, the Punch facelift should have the following aspects integrated into the car model.

Here are seven aspects that Tata needs to enhance in the Punch to outperform the Hyundai Exter.

1.  10. 25-inch Touchscreen Infotainment System

However, the Tata Punch currently has a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system which is slightly smaller than the Hyundai Exter’s 8-inch one. However, a new model of Tata Punch comes with a larger 10. 25-inch touchscreen. To make the Punch facelift more appealing and in a position to give the Punch a tough time, it should adopt this larger screen to avail better visuals and a new, modern interface.

2. Wireless Car Tech

Among the top variants of the Hyundai Exter SUV, it is only possible to use wired Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. As for the connectivity systems, The Punch facelift should have wireless versions of these systems as the connectivity systems of the Punch EV is 10. 25-inch screen supports. Moreover, adding a wireless charging pad would make it more attractive for clients with a passion for technology.

3. Fully Digital Driver’s Display

At present it is possible to find semi-digital driver displays in both the Punch and the Exter. To draw people\'s attention the facelift of the Punch model can offer a completely digital dashboard for the driver, like the 10. A 25-inch unit was discovered inside the Punch. This feature can be beneficial for drivers as it will improve and enhance their driving experience and flexibility.

4. 360-degree Camera

Safety has to be one of the most important features in any car out there as it plays a significant role in determining the quality of the car. On the safety front, the Hyundai Exter has 6 airbags and a dual-camera dash cam, and the Punch facelift could improve its safety by fitting a 360-degree camera setup that was seen in the Punch EV. This would give a full view of the car and its surrounding environment, making it easier for the drivers to manoeuvre through the vehicle especially when in tight spaces.

5. Blind View Monitor

To enhance safety, the facelifted Punch can offer a Blind View Monitor, which is available in the Punch EV. This system shows the camera view from the side mirror cameras on the main screen with the turn signal on; it helps drivers identify vehicles in the blind area when changing lanes or when making sharp turns.

6. Air Purifier and Ventilated Seats.

It may sound cliché but it is imperative to note that comfort features are equally as significant as technology and safety. Adding an air purifier and ventilated front seats in the Punch facelift will go a long way in making the car more comfortable to use especially in hot and polluted regions. These features are not commonly found in the market and would be an added advantage for the Punch.

7. Pricing Strategy and Product Release Schedule

The Tata Punch facelift model is expected to launch in the market by June 2025. They will most probably start from around Rs 6 lakh (ex-showroom), but the higher variants with these additional features will cost more. Even with the possible price jump, the addition of these features will position the car as a formidable rival to the Hyundai Exter and the likes of Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger, Citroen C3, and Maruti Ignis.

Conclusion

Some of these features from the Punch EV can be incorporated into the Tata Punch facelift to help it reclaim its position at the top of the micro-SUV class. When compared to the Hyundai Exter, the new model of the Punch facelift comes with a larger touchscreen, wireless technology, digital driver’s display, enhanced safety features, and improved comfort, thus making it a better model than the Hyundai Exter.
