Is the Toyota Veloz Suitable for Off Road Adventures?

Toyota veloz

This vehicle has one of the most glamorous designs and falls in the category of Toyota’s economic class cars, which is the Toyota Veloz. Some aspects of its design and ergonomics are so obviously borrowed from the concept of an SUV that the viewer gets the unmistakable feeling of the car’s high class.

Rugged Looks

Japanese carmaker Toyota has incorporated a stylish look in the Toyota Veloz with a modern-looking front grille split-type LED headlamps and turn-signal lights in sequence. The back part is also good and there is an LED line guide back door garnish. Toyota Veloz models also feature 17-inch alloy wheels, while the Philippine version is fitted with an over-fender to further highlight its SUV DNA. The Veloz is offered in four colours: Dark Red Mica Metallic, Black Metallic 1, Purplish Silver Mica Metallic and Platinum White Pearl Mica; the last two are the SUV looker.

Spacious Cabin

In terms of interior, Toyota Veloz has adequate and comfortable interior space, which includes space for around seven passengers and may be good for long journeys as well. They cover the fabric-synthetic leather seatings while the interior is quite lit by the ambient lighting. It also has a larger bed mode and an optional long sofa mode if you want to stretch out a bit.

G CVT gets an eight-inch display, while all other models come with a nine-inch multimedia display incorporating touchscreens for infotainment, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto support. Wireless smartphone charging is also possible so that you never run out of battery even when you are away from an outlet.

Reliable Engine

As far as the powertrain is concerned, the Toyota Veloz motor comes with a single engine. It has a 5-litre four-cylinder gasoline engine that comes with dual VVT-i as well as a continuously variable transmission system, often referred to as CVT. It churns out a maximum power of 106 HP and a maximum torque of 138 Nm.

Premium Safety Features

Safety, of course, is a commendable offering for the Toyota Veloz. The V CVT type includes Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) features like a Pre-collision system, Automatic high beam and alert if the car is about to depart from the lane. Other safety aspects consist of a rear cross-traffic alert, blind zone intervention, rear cross-traffic alert, as well as hill launch assist, and six airbags with the supplemental restraint system. But these features offer convenience, especially for families with children during long trips.

Reasonable Pricing

It was officially launched in the Philippine market with the Toyota Veloz G CVT to be priced at P1. 21 million and the V CVT for P1. 25 million making the vehicle one of the most affordable vehicles in this segment but came with these sophisticated tech features.

Off-Road Capability

However, the car does not boast off-road performance despite the Toyota Veloz boasting numerous desirable attributes on the surface. It is somewhat more suited for urban use and mild paths than it is to go off-road with a vengeance. Because Veloz is a front-wheel-drive, has a moderate approach angle to the ground, and lacks off-road equipment, it is not ideal for more intense off-road use.

Conclusion

The Toyota Veloz is a spacious, comfortable family car with a lot of legroom for all seats and numerous features that enhance city driving. However, if you are looking for a car to be used off-road, then there are many vehicles in the market that are specifically designed to handle such conditions. In terms of price and equipment, the Veloz is configurable as a comfortable car for daily commuting and short rides on good pavement.
