Next month, Citroen will introduce the Basalt Coupe SUV in India. The new Citroen Basalt, which is based on the C3 Aircross SUV, will go on sale on August 2, 2024. While the inside has remained concealed up until now, the outside has already been made public through concept art and spy photos on the internet. With the most recent teaser video on social media, the manufacturer has now given fans a first look at the cabin of the new Basalt, highlighting its salient features.
Important interior features, such as the textured dashboard panel and the floating touchscreen infotainment system, are seen in the teaser. Although the cabin is anticipated to be the same as the C3 Aircross, there may be a few variations considering the Basalt's premium pricing. The front and rear passenger armrests are also shown in the teaser. Particularly, the back armrests have a phone holder and cupholders. Additionally, side support for the headrests raises the SUV's comfort level even further.
The 2017 Citroen Basalt's projector headlights and LED DRLs are also shown in the teaser. There are rumours that the modifications will eventually make their way to the C3 Aircross. When competing with the Tata Curvv coupe SUV in the sector, the Citroen India Basalt is expected to turn heads due to its unique styling.
At launch, the Citroen Basalt will only be available with an internal combustion engine (ICE). Anticipate a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine with 115 horsepower and 215 Nm, mated to a 6-speed manual transmission and a torque converter, based on the C3 Aircross. Forewheels will get power. Soon, more information about the hardware, features, and variations will be accessible.
Early in August, the Citroen Basalt will be available, and by the second week of the same month, a pricing announcement is probably in store. The future Tata Curvv, Hyundai Creta, Volkswagen Taigun, Honda Elevate, MG Astor, Toyota Hyryder, and other compact SUVs in the class will all be competing with the vehicle.
