With the introduction of the Bear 650, Royal Enfield increased the size of their middleweight portfolio. With a few modifications to make it a scrambler, the bike mostly takes its construction from the Interceptor 650. Here are five things you need to know if you intend to buy one.
Let’s know why one should go for the Royal Enfield Bear 650:
1. Design
Despite using the same chassis as the Interceptor 650, the Royal Enfield Bear 650 receives several cosmetic modifications. The Bear's colour palette is more youthful, but the circular LED headlamp, fuel tank, and general appearance are identical. Additionally, it features a scrambler-like oval panel on the right side. The Bear also has a one-sided, two-in-one exhaust system. Additionally, it utilises the LED indicators used on Royal Enfield motorcycles with a displacement of 450 cc.
2. Features
Royal Enfield has provided the Bear 650 with a completely digital single-pod instrument dashboard and LED headlamp. It is also based on the Himalayan 450 and has a smartphone connection. When off-roading with the Bear 650, Royal Enfield additionally provided a switch to turn off the rear ABS.
3. Engine
The same 650cc twin-cylinder oil-cooled motor that produces 47 horsepower and 57 Nm powers the Royal Enfield Bear 650. Royal Enfield says the new exhaust system gives the Bear 5 horsepower more than its brothers. A six-speed gearbox is connected to it.
4. Hardware
In addition to the braced chassis, Royal Enfield has updated the Bear 650 with USD front forks and non-gas-charged springs at the back. Single discs with ABS at both ends make up its braking system. These are placed on spoke wheels that are 17 inches in the back and 19 inches in front and covered with MRF Nylorex tyres.
5. Price
The Royal Enfield Bear 650 is available in five distinct colours: Broadwalk White, Petrol Green, White Honey, Golden Shadow, and Two Four Nine. Its ex-showroom pricing is Rs. 3.39 lakh.
