Be ready for the thrill of discovering the new sensation created by the Citroen Basalt SUV Coupe, now on the automotive world market. The Wagon will meet the road in the second half of the next year, with its dazzling silhouette and stunning appearance that already demand attention.

Additionally, only when it is seen from the side Basalt can stand out more distinctly. The cladding in the wheel arches is a bit more square off here, the window line gets very narrow when viewed from each end and the roofline is beautifully shaped to end in the back of the car. From the doors also, further down the cladding has been removed which lets the contoured surfacing technique be exposed and the C-pillar is added with a classy black painted extension on the window line. The idea will be based on the elegant alloy wheels with a dark metallic colour, however, some details may be altered when going to serial production. The linen interior of the Basalt has to do with the Yeti-type door handles.

This latest model of the Basalt has a small and stout end, featuring smooth lines and updated taillights. They still bear the same shape as the C3 Aircross and boast the new LED signatures seen on this SUV. Also, it is running the same dual-tone bumper but this time it is finished in black and silver hue.

The Basalt will have the same dimensions as the C3 Aircross which translates into its overall length of 4.3 meters. The fact that it has SUV aesthetics and jacked-up ride height combined with the slope of the coupe-like roof, the Basalt is the second example of a new type of midsize coupe-SUV that also contains the Tata Curvv model, which is going to be launched somewhere around the same time this SUV will come up.

We can expect this feature to be the next brought over from the C3 Aircross though we know that it will come with some extra equipment. Hence, those unique features such as electric folding mirrors, automatic climate control, cruise control, wireless charging, push-button start and keyless entry that have hitherto been having a gap in the existing cube-passenger cars could in due time be set right from the beginning.

Having one engine in the composure of the current C-cubed models, the Basalt power is drawn from a single 110hp /1.2-litre petrol turbo engine, while the option of manual or automatic transmission is there for convenience. In the stages to follow, there will be an all-electric version that transpires some six months after the sale of the petrol-powered one.

Citroen will unveil the remaining details about the Bastoule model around that time and start the vehicle selling in the latter half of the year. The ‘electric’ model is expected to be the last one next year by January or February 2025.
