A camouflaged unit was spotted testing on Indian roads lately, triggering speculations of a launch sooner rather than later. At the heart of the Atto 2 lies BYD's signature Blade Battery—a lithium iron phosphate type that is thermally stable and has a higher energy density. To that, the Cell-to-Body (CTB) construction methodology is applied to improve rigidity, handling, and interior space.

If BYD were to provide even half of this in the Indian model, we would key a whole new way to perceive the term “compact SUVs.”Step into the cabin, where it is hard not to be impressed. With the Indian version still under wraps, the global Atto 2 holds nothing back. Leatherette seats and ambient lighting are functional in style.

Positioned beneath the Atto 3, Atto 2 will likely be the cheapest of BYD's offerings in India, and would generally be around ₹17 lakh (ex-showroom) in price. This kind of pricing makes it very attractive to urban professionals, first-time EV buyers, and eco-conscious families.
