Kinetic DX Electric Scooter Price, Features & Launch

The Kinetic brand is back, and that too, in loud and electrifying fashion. With the introduction of the Kinetic DX electric scooter, the brand restores its iconic nameplate from the 1990s but in a thoroughly modern battery-powered form. The base DX version is priced at ₹1.11 lakh ex-showroom, while the premium DX+ comes for ₹1.17 lakh ex-showroom.

This is a resurrection of a legend that once ruled the Indian streets.
Speaking about the launch, Kinetic Group Vice Chairman Ajinkya Firodia mentioned:

“This isn't just a new scooter; it's the rebirth of an icon. The DX shaped the mobility dreams of an entire generation. We’ve brought that same trust, with a modern soul and segment-first features, into the electric age.”

Retro Meets Electric: Designed with Nostalgia and Innovation

The new Kinetic DX design is not truly accidental. It's deliberately designed to evoke nostalgia while still providing a fresh visual punch worthy of premium treatment. Drawing inspiration from the legendary Kinetic Honda DX, the new model offers a retro feel, but with thoroughly modern updates.

The sleek LED headlight has DRLs that are sharp and that take the shape of the Kinetic logo, and it has a small visor that is illuminated. A wider floorboard is for comfort, while the metal panels give it durability and a premium feel. The design collaboration with Italian design firms bumps DX to a level up, infusing European sophistication into the Indian classic.

With five bold colours available for the DX+ variant: Red, Blue, White, Silver, and Black, the DX itself is only offered in Silver and Black.

Smart Tech Inside and Outside

Behind the Kinetic DX's sculpted exterior, it houses power in the form of a 4.8 kW hub-mounted BLDC motor and a 2.6 kWh LFP battery. The scooter possesses a claimed IDC range of 116 km, making it more apt for inner-city commuting. A top speed of 90 kmph welcomes the smooth yet exciting rides offered by DX, ideal for those daily travels.

The riders can switch among three modes, namely, Range, Power, and Turbo Modes, depending on coin to their riding necessities or battery-saving needs. There is also a reverse assist, which comes in handy when parking in tight spaces or on sloped roads.

The Kinetic-DX seems to have it all, or at least everything it could ever dream of having. Right from the word go, it is crystal clear that Kinetic went beyond just electrifying and furnished the DX with an array of features that make life easier, more intelligent, and safer.

Beyond smart tech comes the Kinetic DX, with a focus on maximising safety and ride worthy. The metal-body construct stands more crash-proof than its plastic-heavy rivals. Hill-hold assist, strong suspension, and wide tires instil the confidence and stability needed by DX while traversing through uneven patches, speed breakers, and city roads. The integrated charging option brings in another level of convenience and safety and the elimination of loose cables or external charging issues.

Warranty & Booking Details

The Kinetic DX carries the usual 3-year / 30,000 km warranty, extendable up to 9 years / 1,00,000 km, a downright generous offer in the EV scooter realm. Taking such a long-term warranty shows Kinetic's confidence in its battery and motor.

Bookings have just commenced at the official Kinetic website for a booking amount of ₹1,000 only. However, with just 40,000 units being offered initially, the early buyers will get the electric worm. Delivery is expected to start in September 2025.
